Clean sweep of Boustead & Rayner Cups
Sunday 6 March marked the 75th anniversary race of the Boustead Cup between London and Thames, run alongside the much newer Rayner Cup for the London and Thames women. With seven races it was a packed morning of rowing.
The masters men got things underway with a convincing win, which was followed by six more Thames victories in the men’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th 8s and the women’s 1st and 2nd 8s races - all by lots of clear water.
This means Thames retain the Boustead, last won in 2019, and take the Rayner Cup for the second time in two editions of the race. Overall, London now lead the Boustead standings with 32 wins to 31 for Thames.
