Five crews in top 50 at WEHORR

Saturday produced the best overall set of WEHORR results for Thames for over 15 years, with all five crews finishing in the top 50. Conditions were tricky, with tail and crosswinds before Hammersmith, followed by a raging headwind and white caps from Hammersmith almost all the way home.

Thames A ended up fourth, the second-fastest club crew by a few seconds. This is the highest placing for a TRC boat since the overall Headship win in 2012.

Thames B made it two crews inside the top 10 with a blistering row that put them 10th overall. Thames C and D were racing time-only due to having to make a few last-minute substitutions, but would have finished 27th and 47th. Thames E were officially 47th, and third in the the 'challenge' category in an excellent performance.

Meanwhile, over in Amsterdam, two men's masters 8s raced at the Heineken Regatta - a two-day event involving several races over difference distances. The masters B crew ended up fourth overall of all the masters boats, and top of the B category; the masters A crew were sixth in their category and 12th overall.
