Vernon Trophy retained

Thames retained the Vernon Trophy at the Head of the River Race and also secured the club pennant in an extremely strong showing for the 2023 race.

The 1st 8 finished sixth overall, behind three Oxford Brookes and two Leander crews. The 2nd to 5th 8s also rowed strongly, with all five crews finishing in the top 30 overall.

Not to be outdone, the masters crew won the masters B pennant, coming 68th overall.

The following day saw more good performances at the Vesta International Masters Head of the River Race 2023, with the mixed A and masters B crews both coming seconds. The mixed crew rowed to a new course record, but were beaten on handicap by a C crew.
