Medals at the Met 2022
The 'Met' took place on the Platinum Jubilee weekend and Thames dominated many events, showing the hard work on camp had paid off. All events featured a timetrial followed by finals which brought together every category within that event, providing close racing for all.
The club won club 8s on both Saturday and Sunday. Three crews made the Saturday A final and finished second, third and sixth - the winning crew being Leander A in the open category. On Sunday, the A crew won the A final, with the B crew fourth, and Thames C won the B final.
The women's A 8 won club 8s twice, finishing second in the A final on both days to University of London. The B crew were seventh on Saturday and sixth on Sunday, and second in the club category both days, while the C 8 won Sunday's C final.
The women also won championship W4- both days, dominating their finals, with solid performances from the B crew both days and a C crew on Sunday. In W4x, Thames won the B final on Saturday and were fourth in Sunday's A final.
There was also success in club M4- on Sunday, like the women winning not just the category but overall. We added victory in club M4+ and overall in M4+ on Sunday, with another 4+ racing well both days.
In men's pairs, James Reeder and Zack Youell were second both days, with a second pair of Sam Thornton and Nick Pusinelli finishing third on Sunday. Meanwhile Dan Boddington won the M1x C final on Sunday.
The final run to Henley Women's Regatta (17-19 June) and Henley Royal Regatta (28 June-3 July) now begins in earnest.
