Weybridge Silver Sculls 2014
On Saturday 18th October Thames R.C had a strong presence at Weybridge Silver Sculls where the junior squad entered 39 crews across all four divisions.
While many senior athletes had made their way to the National Championships it seemed that local junior clubs were choosing this event to test out their small boat speed. Oscar Bird produced a notable performance in the final division coming 3rd in J18 singles ahead of some of last years’ GB junior representatives from Tideway Scullers, as well as coming 2nd and 1st in IM2 and IM1 singles earlier in the day. Alex Kelly came home in 2nd place in J16 singles and 3rd in Novice singles.
Finally Chloe Knight produced an exceptional final race to come home 4th in WJ16 singles. The whole squad are now joining other London Youth Rowing clubs for a half term training camp in preparation for the Four’s Head of the River, where Thames R.C will be representing in Junior Men’s Quads, Junior Women’s Quads and as a composite with Mossbourne Academy in Intermediate 1 Quads.
